Physical Development
Physical development in the Foundation Stage is about improving skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement. Physical development helps children gain confidence in what they can do and enables them to feel and appreciate the positive benefits of being healthy and active. Effective physical development helps children to develop their positive sense of well-being and increases their understanding of how their bodies work and what they need to do to be healthy and safe.

Children are taken by coach to Bungay Pool each week for a swimming lesson, when the school has exclusive use of the pool. Parents are encouraged to watch and help with drying and changing. We have a large playing field for break and lunch play times. It includes an adventure play area. PE sessions each week cover gym and games skills, and creative movement with a teaching dance specialist. Parents are invited to Sports Day in the summer term.
